PETAL EDUCATION
Education Without Barriers.
Your pace. Your place. Your future.
Two ways to learn
Education from wherever you feel comfortable.
Our online learning pathway gives students access to PETAL's digital learning platform, with a wide range of courses and resources available to explore at their own pace.
Students can access scheduled online lessons, work independently and develop their knowledge and confidence in a supportive environment.
Ideal for learners who experience anxiety around attending a physical classroom, live further away or require greater flexibility.
Learn from home. Learn at your pace. Keep moving forward.
The flexibility of online learning with the benefits of face-to-face support.
Our hybrid pathway combines access to PETAL's online learning platform with scheduled in-person English and Maths classes, opportunities for social interaction and individual learning guidance.
Students can gradually rebuild confidence in a supportive setting, develop friendships and work towards recognised qualifications.
Ideal for learners who benefit from some face-to-face learning but may find a traditional school environment overwhelming.
A place to learn. A place to connect. A place to belong.
Every journey starts somewhere. Yours can start here.
Whether you're looking for a fresh start, a flexible way to learn or a pathway to qualifications, we'd love to hear from you.
Who is PETAL Education for?
PETAL supports young people who need a different approach to education, including those experiencing anxiety, emotionally based school non-attendance or difficulty accessing mainstream learning
What's the difference between Online and Hybrid?
Online (£49/month) provides access to PETAL's digital learning platform and scheduled online lessons. Hybrid (£149/month) includes online access, scheduled in-person English and Maths classes, and social opportunities.
Can my child work towards GCSEs or other qualifications?
Yes. We offer pathways towards GCSEs, A Levels and Essential Skills qualifications. Examination entry depends on individual readiness, subject availability and examination deadlines.
Are examination fees included?
No. Public examination entry fees are charged separately from monthly learning fees. We discuss entries and costs with families before arranging examinations.
Do we pay during school holidays?
Yes. Fees are based on an annual programme and spread across 12 monthly payments, including the summer months.
What happens if my child struggles to attend?
We understand that attendance can be difficult. Our aim is to support gradual engagement, build confidence and work with families to identify a manageable learning pathway.
Does £49 per month cover just one course?
No! Your £49 monthly subscription gives you access to all courses on the PETAL platform, not just one. Explore as many subjects as you like.
Can I try different courses?
Absolutely! You can move in and out of courses, explore different subjects and discover what interests you. You're not restricted to one course.
How do the online courses work?
PETAL courses are self-directed, meaning you can work through lessons independently, at your own pace and at times that suit you.
What if I don't like reading?
No problem! You can listen to the course content instead of reading it, making learning more accessible.
Can I learn in another language?
Yes! You can request course content in other languages to help make learning more accessible.
Where do I find my lessons?
Once registered, you'll receive an invitation link to join the PETAL platform. Your courses, learning materials and links to scheduled online classes are all available there.
Can I sit exams through PETAL?
Yes! Marion Centre of Excellence is an accredited examination centre, so eligible learners can sit public examinations with us. Exam entries are arranged separately, subject to readiness and entry
